Nicki Minaj, a Trinidadian rapper and pop artist, lit up the VMA stage with her fiery performance on Sunday.

The 39-year-old hitmaker stole the show by performing a medley of classics before winning the night's most coveted award,

the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

Minaj wore a stylish Barbie pink ensemble consisting of a glittery top, little skirt, and lace-up boots.

She gave an electrifying performance that included twerking, grinding with her shirtless male dancers, and an incredible pole dancing moment.

According to Page Six, Nicki sang Roman's Revenge, ChunLi, Moment 4 Life, Beez in the Trap, Anaconda, and Super Bass, which got Taylor Swift in the audience smiling and singing along.

Of course, the show wouldn't be complete without Minaj's explosive new single Super Freaky Girl.

The song from her upcoming fifth studio album became viral on TikTok this summer due to its captivating lyrics and the dance craze started by user @lorddroman.

Minaj returned to the VMAs stage for the first time in four years, performing at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

As fans may recall, Nicki performed a Queen-themed medley in 2018 that included favourites such as Majesty, Barbie Dreams, and Ganja Burn.
